[ Conceal, don't feel. Fushiguro values Nanami, especially now that he's gotten the chance to know him. At the moment, he doesn't feel the need to let out his feelings. He's tired, having stayed by Itadori's side since he realized that him sleeping was more than just sleeping. He's not sure what might come out if he lets emotions out, and he couldn't do that to Nanami.

Fushiguro takes a look up at Nanami and for the moment doesn't recognize his tiredness.

He hums in response to that, growing silent at his explanation of what's going on with Itadori. ]

So he could be stuck like this for a while longer?

Yes, he could be.

[ There is no need to sugarcoat the answer. His eyes flicker briefly to Fushiguro as he wonders what the young man is thinking. ]

I'll make something for you to eat. [ Nanami decides to settle on instead. ] I shall ask your forgiveness in going through your cupboards and fridge to acquire the ingredients necessary for your meal.

[ Even if it is for a few minutes, even if it is for a short while, he thinks being outside of the room and letting his mind focus on something else would be good for Fushiguro. Itadori-kun, you would want him that much for him, too, right? His eyes settle on the sleeping young man, feeling his jaw bunch a little, before his expression returns to something more neutral. ]

[Alucard sits at the far end of the bar, dimly-lit in an amber glow. It’s a nice place, at least, quiet when the evening calls for it, and a glance askew allows him to spot his expected company. He waves him over.

He’s dressed in dark colors, which always appears to accentuate the paleness of his features; but those same features are touched with a smile as he waits for Nanami to take a seat next to him.]

A part of me thought you might not humor me at all, you know.

I'm fine.

[ It's a tactic he knows and that's the exact reason he doesn't push. He wouldn't want someone pushing him, either. ]

Yeah, I guess that's true. I mean, you made an impression on me. So I like to know that you're safe.

Did you transform this last time? I saw other people had, but I didn't.

Ah... it's fine.

[ There's a pause, before he speaks up right as Nanami leaves the room. ] They might be a little bare. Itadori did... most of the cooking.

[ Read: most of the cooking. Itadori did teach him how to make meatballs, and has been working on other things, but then well... it's obvious to see what happened. ]

But, thank you, Nanami-san. I appreciate it.

Nananmi, I wanted to let you know that I woke up recently. Fushiguro already knows.

[ It's time for some roommate bonding!!

Fai spent a lot of the latter half of March holed up inside his room thanks to everything that happened at the bonfire, but it looks like he's feeling better now. It also looks like he's on a bit of a baking kick too—he's made coffee cake and the smell is probably noticeable throughout the apartment.

At some point, Fai approaches Nanami, whether that's poking his head around the door to his room or sidling right up next to him. ]

I made some coffee cake. Do you want to try it? I made some coffee to go with it.

Ah, I see.

[ He pauses in the doorway before turning to look back at the two. His shoulders remain still; he pretends them from dropping as he takes in the sight yet again. ]

Then, I'll trouble you by using your kitchen as soon as I return with groceries. [ He holds up his hand. ] You have your hands full so don't worry too much about it, Fushiguro-kun.

[ Which is a means to dismiss the first thanks given to him, and any following gratitude. In truth, he had hoped to protect both of the teenagers from any hardship. But he knew that was impossible; still, he did not think something like this would happen. In a way, he thinks it's unforgivable that they have to be continuously tested, so doing little things for them is the least that he can do. ]

Thank you for being worried about me.

[ Louis may get the impression of Nanami bowing his head slightly to him, even if they are conversing by phone. ]

I am most glad to hear that you are also "fine."

[ A beat follows. ] I did transform, yes. I also lost my senses for a time, but it is thanks to others that I did not do anything too foolish.

[ He crosses his legs as soon as he sits down. ]

That means that you do not yet know me. [ The tone in which he speaks is, as always, incredibly dry but without any bit of sarcasm to it. It is really just a fact to him. ] But that is from my own desire to not be perceived by anyone. Do not let it bother you.

[ Nanami did tell Fai that he would drag him out of the truth that the man chose for himself, but also, he did not believe he needed to be so blunt and callous about it. That said, he left him to remain in his room in order to sort out his own feelings.

It is something of a comfort to be able to smell the cake throughout the apartment. He sits in his room with a trashy romance novel in his hand, quietly reading it and grimacing every other page. There isn't much in the way of reading in this world, but still is determined to leisurely read. ]

That is kind of you to offer, Mister Fai. [ The bookmark is set in as he closes the book to get up. ] Thank you. [ He pauses to just rest his hand on the man's shoulder. ]

[ Itadori-kun. Nanami feels the shock rip through on him as he reads the message. He grips his hand for a second as he settles his own emotions. There are certainly a lot of things that he could say. He knows already that Itadori is all right. If he was not, Fushiguro would have contacted him.

Yet some things still must be asked. ]

How are you feeling?

[ The hand on his shoulder makes Fai smile just a little. ]

No need to thank me!

[ But he'll happily take it anyway. The gratitude is nice, after all.

He eyes the book Nanami just closed. ]

I didn't know you were into those kind of books, Nanami-sama.

You went through some trouble and so I am thanking you.

[ There is a steady stream of emotion that is telling Fai that he should take the thank you, before Nanami takes his hand off the man's shoulder. ]

There is a surprising lack of variety when it comes to books.

[ Another sigh filters out past his lips. ] I made a wish to have the time to read books and now I am in a world where the majority of them are ... these. I feel like there was a curse like this that existed once.

[ His smile grows softer at that feeling. He'll accept that thanks, and that feeling is evident before Nanami moves his hand.

Fai leads the way towards the kitchen, grabbing a mug and pouring some coffee into it. He laughs. ]

Aw, that's not a bad curse, at least! Some of those books have to be fun, right?

Fun?

[ He lets out a louder sigh as he follows after Fai. His expression softens all the more at the smell of coffee and cake -- it is stronger where they are.

Nanami feels like his roommate is used to sensing that the harsh, stern aura that he has tends to lighten and almost become downright pink around certain foods. Even so, he pauses to give him a look that tells Fai not to comment on it. ]

They are all right. I never had much of a chance to read or finish a book back home, so I can't say I can give a full literary critique but they are fine.

[ That look almost makes Fai laugh, but he holds himself back. Honestly, he thinks it's cute the way Nanami's attitude changes when he's around food like this, but he knows to never say something like that. ]

I'm glad you have a chance to read here, even if it isn't a genre you favor.

[ He pours coffee into a second mug, turning to look at Nanami. ]

Do you want anything in your coffee? I'll make it however you like.

No. Black is best. Anything added to it means that the flavor is hidden.

[ He takes a few steps forward before carefully taking the second cup from Fai. Cupping it in his hands, he brings it up to give an appreciative smell. The warm aura around him seems to get that much warmer. ]

Of course, if it is a long night, cream and sugar is needed, but I have not had to worry about those for quite some time.

Good. I'm glad you don't have those either.

[ He takes that first mug and pours a bit of cream and adds some sugar. ]

I like cream and sugar, though. I always have.

[ Which is probably not a surprise, considering that Fai's palate tends toward sweeter things. He takes a sip before looking over at Nanami, tying to gauge how he feels about it. ]

I hope the flavor of the coffee is good. I bought a new blend the other day.

It's good.

[ He, of course, says this after he has taken a sip and let the flavor rest in his mouth before he said anything else. Nanami is nothing if not sincere in everything that he does, even giving replies about how coffee is. ]

It seems like you are doing well today. [ Because he is baking and worrying about these things. Nanami doesn't tell him not to push himself too hard, because Fai will even if he says it. He instead pauses to take another sip of coffee instead.

Praising him about these things, isn't in his nature. It is commenting on a fact and being happy about that fact. ]

[ His appraisal of the coffee earns a small but sincere smile from Fai as he turns to grab a couple of small plates for the cake.

That comment makes him pause as he sets the plates down on the counter. Compared to how he's been lately, the difference is obvious. Fai is in a good mood today, even going as far as to try something new like coffee cake. ]

...I am. [ Sort of. He's never doing well, if he's honest. ] I'm better than I was.

[ Fai opens one of the drawers, getting out a knife suitable for cutting the cake. ]

I'm sorry for staying in my room so much lately.

[ Since he's sure Nanami already knows why, he'll go ahead and say it. ]

I met a few people at the bonfire, and said a lot more than I ever meant to share while I was here. I needed some time.

[ Nanami watches Fai carefully, listening to what he says with rapt attention. ]

It is all right. I would not want you to do more than what you feel that you can.

[ His lips press together into a thin line. He wonders what else that Fai had been forced to share, but he stands by the words that he said before -- he dragged enough truth out of the sorcerer. However, he will not allow Fai to live in a truth that he is a blight and curse to others. ]

I understand. I won't ask more about it. [ A slight pause follows. ] Unless you would like to talk. I would not like you to believe your words have no meaning to others.

[ He pulls the cake closer, slicing into it. It looks good.

But Fai freezes for just a moment, the knife still in the cake. ]

I... [ He thinks about it, thinks about telling Nanami that he told others about his childhood, something he never shared before. ]

Maybe one day.

[ As it stands now, he can't do it willingly. It's too much. However... knowing the offer to listen is there? It feels nice. A strange, but nice, feeling. He looks at the cake, focusing on it much more intently than he needs to so he doesn't have to look at Nanami. ]

...Thank you.

[ For thinking that his words have any meaning—that's what he wants to say, but he can't. ]

I understand.

[ Yet again he offers those words to him with complete sincerity. There are some things that cannot be shared easily but he will wait for whatever Fai has to say, should he ever wish to say it. ]

You're welcome.

[ And unlike how he normally is, he accepts the thanks from him. ]

I'm certain you would do the same for me, anyway.

I would.

[ Fai breathes out, composing himself. He's glad that Nanami understands and that he doesn't have to force himself to talk or pretend that everything is fine. It's... a weird feeling, but not bad.

He finishes cutting a decently sized slice, gently placing it on the plate and grabbing a fork. Picking it up, Fai finally turns to Nanami with a smile on his face. He scoops up a small bite with the fork and holds it out. ]

Say "ah~"!

[ Yeah, he's going to cheer himself up by doing something like this. ]
