[Ah, as formal as ever. There's something predictably novel about it.]

I have been. And part of that is thanks to you, for orienting me on my first days of arrival.

My thanks it long overdue. And so, thank you. If you ever have need of me, you may ask. I should return the favor someday.

[lmao

what]

You're rejecting my thanks?

You're a very strange human.

What if I insist?

Is gratitude so offensive to your sensibilities? You can afford to accept some of it, I promise. It proves you performed your job well.

[Alucard pauses, not quite sure what to make of that. It goes beyond seriousness, and sounds as though it’s more a measure of worth. Which, considering how well he truly knows this man (not terribly), hardly seems any of his business.]

If not proof, then at least see it as appreciation. I can hardly cease it on my end.

[SHEESH.]

In the same manner that you will not, no.

[TOO BAD!!!]

Good. And will you accept a physical show of appreciation, as well?

[After sending that, he thinks maybe he should have worded it a bit more clearly.]

A drink sometime, I mean. If you do not find your schedule filled to the brim with your responsibilities.

Do not sound so excited for my sake.

[This man. Truly.]

Have you the time now? Or should I call upon you later?

You don't take any pleasure in drinking, socializing, or spending time with a vaguely familiar face? All of the above?

I won't test my luck. I've found a small but classy enough place. Meet me here.

[And the coordinates are sent.]

[Alucard sits at the far end of the bar, dimly-lit in an amber glow. It’s a nice place, at least, quiet when the evening calls for it, and a glance askew allows him to spot his expected company. He waves him over.

He’s dressed in dark colors, which always appears to accentuate the paleness of his features; but those same features are touched with a smile as he waits for Nanami to take a seat next to him.]

A part of me thought you might not humor me at all, you know.

[personal profile] memoriams 2021-04-06 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[Now, then. Alucard can hardly blame the man. He does not truly know his story, nor where this predilection comes from — something quite important, or a life-changing event, perhaps, that caused him to be this way. Or perhaps it was his personality, and little more than that?

Hard to say, coming from a man who does not desire to be perceived by anyone, as he says.

Alucard gives the bartender at a distance a little wave, motioning for him to come over. No doubt Nanami’s own order will be filled soon, should the man have an idea of what he wants.]

No one at all? What about those from your home?

[Alucards brows pinch together slightly as he considers this. Bothered? He isn’t quite sure if that’s the right word, but it is something he considers strange.

A clink on the bartop indicates that they’ve received their drinks, and Alucard’s pale fingers slip around his glass as he weighs what to say next.]

Not bothered. Simply confused.

[He clinks a nail against the glass.]

It seems lonely, I think. But keep in mind that this is coming from a man who struggled with much the same. [Past tense, what a lark.] I will admit that being able to keep an arm-length distance from strangers is ideal, but to those who are… closer? That would be more difficult.

[He takes a drink. It goes down like fire, and he wrinkles his nose.]

Ah… or is it that you remain mysterious everyone in your world?
